Sergeant Lorraine Gribben of Strathclyde Polices' dissertation of "An Explanation of the Factors Associated with the Retention of Female Police Officers" is now available here.

Female Health Leaflet

A new female health leaflet from the Police Federation of England and Wales is available.

EHCR Survey

The new EHCR survey "Sex and Power 2008" reports a decline in the numbers of women in executive positions and suggest the glass ceiling is now a concrete one! - The survey or highlights can be found here.

Objectives

The original objectives of the group were -

To formalise and maintain links with relevant representative committees and other relevant forums providing representation where appropriate.

To provide support to the Scottish Police Service in the implementation of the Gender Agenda Scotland action plan.

To provide information and support to women within the police service through provision of development days, extranet communication and other forms of networking.

To make recommendations to the Personnel and Training Standing Committee on mentoring.

To make recommendations to the Personnel and Training Standing Committee on advertising for recruitment of women.

To provide support to the Scottish police service in the implementation of flexible working.
